Dental Implants

The term ‘Dental Implant’ refers to a small screw made of titanium that is inserted into the jaw bone at the site of a missing tooth. The initial phase of the treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic and does not require you to stay in hospital.
This process is entirely safe as titanium is well tolerated by the human body and, once completely healed, a prosthesis is attached to the screw, forming a permanent and durable bond. Implants can be used for single teeth or as a base onto which a bridge is anchored, meaning that they are also an excellent alternative to dentures
